Call For Waterfalling Adventure Tour Participants

The Iligan Bloggers Society (IBS), Inc. will once again hold its Waterfalling Adventure Tour (WAT) that targets waterfalls enthusiasts bloggers from all over the Philippines. The WAT is now on its third year, and is the IBS’ way of promoting Iligan City as a tourist destination by showcasing several of its wondrous natural treasures. The activity is open to interested bloggers who are healthy, adventurous, and who is up for a long weekend of waterfall chasing.

WAT 3.0 is set for May 17-19, 2014 and is, so far, the most ambitious undertaking of this annual IBS event as it features the one of Philippines’ highest waterfalls—Limunsudan. Nestled in a remote and almost-inaccessible area of the Iligan territory, Limunsudan Falls has stayed relatively well-hidden from the public’s view. It is considered the Holy Grail for most waterfallers. Aside from Limunsudan Falls, WAT 3.0 will also showcase several of Iligan City’s majestic waterfalls, including Tinago Falls, Dodiongan Falls, Mimbalut Falls, and the much storied and legendary, Ma. Cristina Falls.

Registration fee is P2,000. The registration fee is inclusive of accommodation and meals, and transportation from hotel to featured waterfalls.  Participants are expected to shoulder their travel expenses to and from Iligan City.

In line with Iligan Business Month, and in partnership with Chamber of Commerce, and Industry of Iligan, Inc., Iligan Bloggers Society, Inc. will be conducting a Social Media for Small Businesses: Utilizing Online Media to Boost Your Business for business owners and/or brand/organization’s social media managers in Iligan City. The seminar will be about the basics and Social Media use appreciation, different free online tools that can be used for business marketing, and showing you how you can maximize your online presence by engaging with your network with a few click of these tools. It will be a good introduction to getting your brand on social media platforms, and show you how you can bring your brands to be competitive online.

#ExperienceIligan online campaign will kick off this September 16, 2013 via the hosted Twitter Chat by Iligan Bloggers Society, Inc.

We are have inviting netizens to use the hashtag #ExperienceIligan in their social media posts particularly Twitter and Instagram, and share it like wildfire. Aiming to mobilize the locals and visitors to a unified call to action to highlight Iligan City, and encouraging people to visit and experience Iligan for themselves, social media is maximized through this unified effort.

IBS, Inc. Launches #ExperienceIligan Campaign

ILIGAN CITY, PHILIPPINES, August 18, 2013 – Iligan Bloggers Society, Inc. launches #ExperienceIligan, an online campaign for Iligan City.

IBS, Inc. encourages netizens to use the hashtag #ExperienceIligan in all posts about the beauty of Iligan City. The campaign aims to mobilize the locals as well as the visitors for a unified call to action to invite other tourists and travelers around the world to experience Iligan.

The campaign takes off with the celebration of Diyandi Festival drawing near, and will continue even after the festivities. Posts on Instagram and Twitter will be curated on the IBS, Inc. website.

“We recognize the power of online media to capture the attention of potential tourists and visitors. By using the clickable hashtag #ExperienceIligan, it’s easier for people to see what the locals and visitors share about the best ways to experience Iligan,” says Lisa Marie Mirasol, the organization’s president.

With the support of the people of Iligan and the local establishments, the online campaign aims to generate hundreds of excellent tips from locals and visitors, and reach millions of people around the world via the Internet and encourage them to #ExperienceIligan.

IBS, Inc. aspires that the hashtag #ExperienceIligan will soon result in various spin-off online campaigns about Iligan City Tourism.

Blogging 101.5 – We Started It Right!

One of the goals of Iligan Bloggers Society, Inc. is to conduct quality talks and seminars to broaden the blogging community and promote responsible use of social media in the city of Iligan.

Together with Jacko’s Kan-anan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan, IBS, Inc. hosted a start-up seminar called Blogging 101.5 last July 27, 2013 with a theme of #StartingItRight.

The blogging seminar was an interactive one, encouraging the participants to ask more questions on the three major topics in blogging:  Basics of Blogging (by Mr. Gabriel Billiones), Branding (by Mr. Alexander Singcol), and Networking for Bloggers (by Ms. Lovette Jam Jacosalem).  The Society’s President, Ms. Lisa Marie Mirasol, facilitated the open forum after each of the presentations.
