Call For Waterfalling Adventure Tour Participants

The Iligan Bloggers Society (IBS), Inc. will once again hold its Waterfalling Adventure Tour (WAT) that targets waterfalls enthusiasts bloggers from all over the Philippines. The WAT is now on its third year, and is the IBS’ way of promoting Iligan City as a tourist destination by showcasing several of its wondrous natural treasures. The activity is open to interested bloggers who are healthy, adventurous, and who is up for a long weekend of waterfall chasing.

Poster

WAT 3.0 is set for May 17-19, 2014 and is, so far, the most ambitious undertaking of this annual IBS event as it features the one of Philippines’ highest waterfalls—Limunsudan. Nestled in a remote and almost-inaccessible area of the Iligan territory, Limunsudan Falls has stayed relatively well-hidden from the public’s view. It is considered the Holy Grail for most waterfallers. Aside from Limunsudan Falls, WAT 3.0 will also showcase several of Iligan City’s majestic waterfalls, including Tinago Falls, Dodiongan Falls, Mimbalut Falls, and the much storied and legendary, Ma. Cristina Falls.

Registration fee is P2,000. The registration fee is inclusive of accommodation and meals, and transportation from hotel to featured waterfalls.  Participants are expected to shoulder their travel expenses to and from Iligan City.

For interested bloggers and waterfallers, please fill up the registration form below:

See you in Iligan!

Everyone actively participating in packing relief goods to be sent to Leyte and other affected areas of Yolanda, please take note of the following:

  1. DO NOT PACK NOODLES OR ANYTHING THAT NEEDS WATER/COOKING. There is no water and electricity in most areas so it is impossible to consume this kind of food.
  2. PACK MEDICINES. The most in demand are basic medicines such as pain relievers, antibiotics, and flu or fever relief medicines. If possible, include medicine for surface wounds as many have been wounded because of the debris and fallen rooftops.

PAL Humanitarian Cargo Grant

Philippine Airlines will start the free airlifting of critical supplies and relief goods for victims of typhoon Yolanda in the hardest hit areas of the Visayas region following the resumption of operations of some of the affected airports.

The PAL Humanitarian Cargo Grant, which is open to government agencies, SEC-registered foundations, NGOs, non-profit, charitable, civic and religious organizations will cover the following necessities: medicines, medical supplies, powdered milk for infants, hygiene products; toiletries such as new underwear, ready-to-eat products, and other nutritious foods, which cannot be readily sourced in the affected areas.

To help ensure the efficient processing and delivery of goods, PAL said that only donors under the said categories, will be eligible to avail of the grant.

To maximize cargo space for these critical necessities, the grant will not include products that are either already distributed by the local government units or available near the calamity-stricken areas. These include canned goods such as sardines, noodles, and bottled water.

PAL will fly the goods on a space availability basis.

Donors only need to contact the PAL Foundation at telephone numbers (02) 851-2980 or (02) 8526090 (telefax) or email palfoundation@pal.com.ph and provide their name, the contact information of the consignee, and a list of the contents of the shipment.

The PAL Foundation will then contact the donors to inform them whether their shipments are eligible for free airlift.
