A Word of Thanks for the “Warriors for Sendong”

Category : Announcements

The internet can be a good source of information. It is a medium for one to learn new skills such as basic blogging, SEO, Social Media and other internet marketing skills. When I learned about the Warrior Forum years before, I knew that all the pros gather there and showcase their knowledge and authority by giving out and selling information products and other software. That is just one of the good uses of forums such as the Warrior Forum.

But little did I know that this site can also be a way to create movements for social causes. I was very much surprised when I saw a notification for donation from Justin Wheeler of Vashon Media, a War Room Member based in Peru. And upon checking the link he gave me, I saw how hundreds of other forum members joined together for a charity WSO – all for the survivors of the TS Sendong that befell on Iligan City last fateful day of December 17th, 2011.

For those who want to check, Justin Wheeler put it up on this link Philippines Christmas Typhoon Relief – Super Packed Charity WSO. The deal was that internet marketers get 60 WSOs (Warrior Special Offer) and other products that are well worth $1000 all for only $17. But it is a charitable drive and all the amount will be given for the benefit of the Sendong survivors.

Today, on behalf of the Iligan Bloggers Society, I would like to give my sincerest thanks and gratitude to our major donor – The Warriors for Sendong, for sending us the proceeds of the drive.

Thank you Justin Wheeler for coming up with such a charitable drive. It only goes to show that internet marketers on different parts of the world can come together for one social cause and this time, it’s for the Filipinos affected by TS Sendong (Washi).

You are not just internet marketers armed for (virtual) war but also warriors with a heart. Thanks again to you and to the folks at Warrior Forum.

It is very much our pleasure. Would like to mention that Joe Finn was my co-organiser of this event. Unfortunately only one name gets listed for a WSO Sale and Joe was instrumental in getting many of the product owners on board and encouraging many people to mail the offer as well.

I, and I am sure Joe is with me here, would also like to reiterate again my huge thanks
to all the Warriors who donated a product, and who mailed their lists about this offer and this cause.

More importantly however I would like to thank you all of the great work that you are doing.

It is always difficult to know where to send the proceeds of charitable offers to know where the most money can have the most impact and when one of Joe’s colleagues in the Iligan area told us about you it seemed that you were one of the obvious choices.

It is great to know that all the money is being used for the purpose it is meant for and not being eaten up in administration fees.

Thank you all and God Bless you all for the work that you are doing.

Thank you so much for the clarification. Please send our thanks to Joe Finn too for co-organizing this event. Being a social media manager myself, I am very much surprised that internet marketers can gather up in numbers to help. As bloggers, we have done not just only disseminate information regarding the storm but also worked hands-on with the volunteers and the survivors as per the updates from our on-field volunteers. The support from Warriors for Sendong is very much appreciated to ease the burden of these survivors. Thanks again.

Thanks for running the website and for serving as a focal point for donations for Iligan. All my VAs are from Iligan and I could not have asked for a better crew, and what’s more, over the 2-3 years we’ve worked together, my co-workers have become like a family for me.

The courage and steadfastedness of the Philippino people is amazing. A disaster like this happens, and I get emails from my co-workers apologizing for not being able to work, instead of complaining about the hardship. You are an example to the world.

I’m glad it was my privilege to co-organize with Justin this worthwhile donation drive, and thankful for having the means to help you all in Iligan.

Hello Joe. Glad to have you visit here. Yes, the Iligan Bloggers and the volunteers have been working since Day 1 of the One for Iligan operations in order to help out the survivors of TS Sendong. Just helping and volunteering for the online communications too.

I am pretty sure that your crew are very much lucky to have a boss like you who is concerned for the welfare of the Filipinos in Mindanao. We are very much lucky too to have the support of people from all over the world sending in their help.

Congratulations on running such a charity drive. May your tribe increase.

I’m very happy to hear that it went well. I also purchased the Christmas WSO, but prior to that I just had sent extra Christmas bonuses to two of my assistants who live in Iligan city – one of them had just lost his entire home, and his computer and possessions were all swept away by the flood. Now I’m sending him a netbook etc. as well … I really appreciate that others have contributed because I felt there was only so much I could do myself and I’m so happy to see so much help from others.
